Module 1 Assignment 4

Q The whole purpose of this assignment is to start getting into the frame of mind that you can't give what you don't have. Meaning, if you fill yourself with judgement, anger and impatience, that's what you give to the world. If you fill yourself with self-compassion, forgiveness, and patience, that's what you give to the world. I believe we would all like to fill ourselves up with the positive to give both ourselves and this world and that is what this assignment is focused on......you first filling you so that you can be happy as well as a positive change in this world. Self-care starts with awareness. Please watch the following videos and then answer the questions following each video. Each response should be a minimum of a paragraph (5-10 complete sentences). Video 1 1. What are the two wolves and why is it important to acknowledge both of them? How does this apply to your life? Video 2 2. Why is mindfulness a superpower according to video 2? When would mindfulness have helped you in a past experience? Video 3 3. Why is it important that we give ourselves 10 mindful minutes each day according to Andy Puddicombe? 1. These two wolves reminded me of the concept of yin and yang which are the concept of good and evil living together to create balance and harmony. These two wolves represent the two sides of a person. The story shows how good and evil both resides within the same human being and he will only reflect the personalities of the wolf that he will feed. This means we need to choose our own paths and make our own decisions. This does not require us to deny the opposite but we need to know when and how to suppress the negativity. To me, it applies to control ego, anger and fear by opening my mind to positive things like kindness, happiness and mercy.
